In January of 1904, a group of people got together to form an insurance company that would provide good coverage and service at an affordable price. As a result of that meeting, Farmers and Merchants Mutual Fire Insurance Company was formed and began writing insurance coverage in June of 1904.

Enduring two world wars and the Great Depression, Farmers and Merchants Mutual Fire Insurance Company continued to grow and prosper. In 1974, our operations outgrew our office building on Pine Street in Calumet and our present headquarters were constructed at 100 Fourth Street in Calumet.

Now in our second century of business, Farmers & Merchants Mutual Fire Insurance Company continues to provide security, service and savings for our policyholders.
